We are very glad we found The Barn listed in cottages.com. It's a beautifully laid out barn conversion. It was easy to find via our sat nav, but even without one it would've been fine. The interior of The Barn is tastefully decorated, and the proportions well designed. The open plan living/kitchen/dining area suits the size of the cottage. The staircase to the upstairs is very grand and leads to a huge bathroom and nice sized bedroom with a king-size bed. The village of Greystoke is a great jumping off point to visit lots of fab' places in the Lakes'. We managed to get down to Windermere & up to Hadrian's wall. We would recommend a visit to Greystoke Castle but be prepared as it's not like any other stately home you've ever seen. It's a 5 minute walk away. The local pub, The Boot and Shoe, does very nice food but book in advance as it gets very busy. Although the complementary bottle of wine was a nice gesture, we don't drink. So a packet of locally sourced biscuits or some scones would've been a better fit for us! (Not everyone drinks). We also feel that the place wasn't quite as clean as it could've been,a few black marks on the walls and marks in the shower( there wasn't enough toilet paper either.) We also found the instructions for the rubbish distribution a little confusing too! That's why not five stars. It's quite safe to say that we have fallen in love with The Lake District and have already decided to return next year!We would highly recommend The Barn for a relaxing stay.

We spend a lovely week in the Barn, traveling to all interesting places in the Lake District, coming home to a quite & cosy place. It is as nice and profound as the pictures promise! A definite recommendation.
