Situated in the small, rural village of Great Strickland in the Eden Valley, just 2 miles from the Lake District National Park and 6 miles from Ullswater.
It benefits from easy access to the M6, peaceful country lanes for cycling and walking on the Lakeland Fells or Pennine Hills. There is a village pub serving food, 100 yards from the house, with excellent amenities in Penrith just 5 miles.

We had a wonderful holiday at The Woodland and would definitely recommend it.The lodge is beautiful and very spacious - there were 5 in our party and we had plenty of room.The lodge is very well equipped and everything is of a high standard.The site itself is quiet and peaceful and is set just outside Great Strickland village.. Local amenities are limited, but we had use of a car so this wasn’t a problem at all.The lodge is about 15 minutes from Penrith which is lovely and a perfect base for visiting The Lake District, Carlisle and over the border to Scotland.Thank you for letting us stay in your lovely lodge, we would love to visit again.

Lovely lodge nice quiet site. Lodge was very Clean when we arrived. Everything you needed in the kitchen tea towel/bin bags/washing liquid/ dishwasher tablets/washing powder. The pub up the road has closed now . No one delivers to the site so if you want a take away be prepared to have collect it. Only negative was there was a-lot of fly’s but it’s just a little negative. We would most definitely go back .

Lovely lodge - spacious accommodation and well maintained- fond memories of the site parents owned a caravan back in the 80’s set in the lovely village of Great Strickland - pity about the village pub closing ! Everything you could want to have a peaceful holiday in the Lakes and they also allow well behaved dogs which is a bonus .
