Guests say

Guests generally appreciate the spacious, well-equipped cottage in Windermere, highlighting its excellent location and suitability for groups. The modern kitchen and multiple bathrooms are particularly praised, as is the proximity to local amenities. Some guests mention minor maintenance issues and cleanliness oversights, but these do not detract significantly from the overall positive experience.

The majority of guests found the property clean and well-presented, though there were several mentions of specific cleanliness issues such as dog hair on furniture, sticky tables, and dusty areas. These appear to be isolated incidents rather than a consistent trend.

The location is highly praised for its convenience, being within walking distance to shops, pubs, and local attractions in Windermere. The availability of parking, despite some challenges, does not significantly detract from the property's prime location.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, with ample space for socialising and privacy. The presence of multiple bathrooms adds to the comfort level. Some guests noted issues with bed comfort and a cold bedroom, but these comments were not widespread.

Facilities are generally well-received, with a well-equipped kitchen and sufficient entertainment options. Maintenance issues such as wobbly door handles, complicated oven controls, and minor DIY concerns are noted, suggesting room for improvement.

Several guests were delighted by thoughtful touches such as a welcome basket with jams and refreshments. While these gestures are appreciated, it is important to note that such amenities may vary and are not guaranteed for every stay.

! Front door was all cracked paint !! Next door (flats) were hanging out of windows with a strange smell coming our way !! Think the price we paid was far too much !! I have left my phone charger & you want me to pay £30 !!!! To return it which is just ridiculous

Lovely size property and plenty of space in all the rooms with comfy beds. Nice little courtyard ideal for the dog. No complaints at all. Parking permits were ideal and no issues with those at all. Great having two front rooms as families so that kids could enjoy one room and adults still had a space too.

Excellent location. The main issue we had was that we got given the wrong key code for the house. Imagine travelling over 5 hours with 2 elderly relatives and a 12 year old lab to find you can't get in and worry you have been scammed. Even worse when Skye Cottages had given us 2 numbers to try, one of which no one answered and the other the person was so incredibly rude, hanging up on me twice saying I was bothering him and it wasn't his issue (so how come we were given his number in the first place) Eventually after 40 minutes of pure panic the home owner rang back and casually said oh we had the wrong key code. No call or check in after to see if we were OK, or had actually managed to get in. We were also told the washing machine was broken, one day before we were due to travel. I understand things happen but didn't plan on spending one of my days having to hang around at the laundrette waiting for my clothes. Also said we could be re embursed for that but wasn't told how? 3 of the beds also had stained / dirty sheets. Parking was ok, IF you managed to get a space in front of the property. 2 of our relatives had mobility issues so it was alot of back and forth having to drop them and drive to the parking place if no spaces were available. I would 100% go back to the Lake District, but I unfortunately would not stay at this accommodation again.
