Take a cruise on Lake Windermere to Ambleside or across to Lakeside to enjoy a day at The Aquarium or hop on the steam train to Haverthwaite. This was a bit tricky to find as we arrived late at night. You have to dive down behind the house on a narrow gravel alleyway. But we did have a big car. On arrival the accommodation smelt abit funky like no one had been there for a while, after putting on the heating combined with the door open for unloading the car this soon disappeared and never noticed all the time we was thee. Loking from the front of the house we was in the basement but from the back where you access the property you are on the ground floor. It was nice e to see we had competently, tea,coffee,milk,sugar,towels hand-wash,teatowerl,washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets. Very well equipped kitchen. Lovey big comfy bed. Looks like the bedroom sufferers for damp because it had a dehumidifier running which we had to empty twice a day this realy wasnt a problem for me. I must point out I never seen or felt any damp all the time we was there, I believe this is due to the type of building and beening old. I whiuld 💯 go back to this property it's a 2 min walk and your in the high street this is very well situated to access all the amenities around the area.

Slate burrow is a lovely little apartment to stay in has all the things you need in there. The only downfall was you heard every movement from the people who was above us which meant we was woke up at 6:30am to loud feet. Apart from that it was lovely right near all the shops.

A smell of mould and damp hot is as soon as we walked in, the garden is a scruffy back street with weeds. Electrics are terrible, damp on the walls has affected the socket .. fire doesn’t work. Wardrobes in the bathroom are black with mould. We left the next day instead of staying that night .. smelly bedding .. disgusting
