Stone Cottage at Staveley is a well-loved holiday rental, praised for its cosy and homely atmosphere, well-equipped facilities, and beautiful garden. The village of Staveley offers a peaceful setting with local amenities and is conveniently located for exploring the Lake District. Guests have enjoyed the added space of the conservatory and the secure garden for pets.
Most guests found the cottage to be spotlessly clean and well-maintained, though there were a few isolated comments about cleanliness issues such as dust and crumbs, which slightly affected the overall impression.
The location in Staveley is highly regarded for its tranquillity, local shops, and proximity to Windermere and other Lake District attractions. The village's amenities and the ease of exploring the surrounding areas contribute to the high rating.
Guests consistently describe the cottage as comfortable and cosy, with a warm welcome and a homely feel. The comfortable bed and the conservatory are frequently mentioned as highlights, although a few guests noted issues with the mattress and pillows.
The cottage is generally well-equipped for a self-catering holiday, with a modern kitchen and secure bike storage. However, some guests reported missing or malfunctioning items such as a DVD player and heating system issues, which suggests room for improvement in ensuring all advertised facilities are present and in working order.
