The cottage is beautiful, and in a really wonderful location, and has been fitted out to a very high standard, HOWEVER:Their were hairs in all bedsThe showers had not been cleanedThere were cobwebs, tumble weeds of dead hair and and dust everywhereThe owners clearly use this property themselves a lot, and as a result they have left a lot of their personal belongings in the house meaning there is no space for holiday makers to store their own things, e.g. Wardrobes had clothes hanging in them and were also used to store sleeping bags, spare duvets and linen etc. so there was either no or shared hanging space. The bedside cabinet drawers were full of socks with no other drawers available. The vanity cabinets in bathrooms full of part used toiletries, In the kitchen, the freezer was full, the butlers pantry was full, the wine fridge was full, even the fridge had stuff in it, we had to live out of our suitcases and store any food we bought on the work surfaces as there was literally no storage anywhere. The extractor fans did not work in either shower. The central heating system is clearly broken and permanently re-set itself to 30 degrees which was intolerably hot for us so we had windows open for the entire stay. Only two of three rings on the induction hob worked. The electric ovens were pretty useless and needed at least 5 hours pre-heat to attain temperatures to slow cook with, but there were no pots/casserole dishes available to use in the ovens, just a roasting tray (the oven never achieves temperature to roast) We had asked for a travel cot and a high chair to be provided. The high chair was in a disgusting condition, coated with dirt and old food. I have taken photos of this, we couldn't use it, even after pressure washing in the back garden. The back garden is a lovely area to sit out in, and watching the sunset across the fields was a joy. The kitchen is a great area for sitting in. The two double beds were very comfortable, although the box room with twin camp beds really won't work except for toddlers as you need to climb over the bed rails at the end to get into the beds. Water pressure as good in both showers and water temperature was fine, although there was a persistent smell of drains from the main bathroom (I suspect no water trap in the shower) Front sitting room was very pretty and cozy with good TV and also DVD available Light switches were a little confusing as there were so many multi way gangs, but fine once we worked them out. Overall a really pretty cottage in a great location, but they really should use professional cleaners. I'd recommend the owners get a lot of their stuff out to make it more guest friendly. They also need to address the electric issues with the cooker, the shower extractors and the temp settings for the heating

Great cottage, great location, village pub servers good food, good but expensive fish and chip shop.

Really great house with lovely views and good location. However, the upstairs bathrooms were not clean - dead flies in the shower tray, and gross toothpaste water in the toothbrush holder, which did upset me when we arrived.
