River Meadow Retreat was the perfect countryside getaway! I booked for my partner’s early birthday celebrations and the setting was perfect. The hot tub with a beautiful view of the fields was the most peaceful experience. All of the ammenities were ideal, with the comfiest bed and enough kitchen space to cook a nice evening meal and then sit outside in the spacious garden area. It was beautiful watching the bunnies hop by in the morning and to have a very private location as only 2-3 cars passed by during our whole weekend stay. The Farm shop/cafe is only a 15-20min walk away and was a great way to break up the day as they have a lovely lunch menu. The host was so attentive sending directions and details of our stay to us before our arrival which made the process really smooth. We could not recommend River Meadow Retreat more and have already shared with Family and Friends!

Stayed here for my birthday for a little get away with my French bulldog and partner and was very relaxing and in a great location with Ely not far for a day out! If you stay here try the crave restaurant in Downing market very good food and a Wetherspoons next door. Definitely recommend 🙂

We really enjoyed our stay, the location is nicely tucked out of the way with very little passing traffic to bother you. The cabin is brilliant with everything you need for a very comfortable stay, the hot tub is an added bonus that we took advantage of on both days. The welcome pack with a map included of the local area is a nice touch that was appreciated, as was the apple juice, biscuits and crisps that we tucked into.The trails around the village are very nice and worth exploring and I can recommend the breakfast at the local garden centre restaurant that is only a 10 minute walk away. The owners have provided everything for a brilliant stay, we would definitely recommend River Meadow retreat for anyone wanting a peaceful break and we will definitely be coming back in the near future.
