About this property

Sheringham 3.2 miles. A traditional flint cottage, just off the main road that leads to the coast at Sheringham, is Compass Cottage, a semi-detached property, ideal for a family or group of six wanting to enjoy a coastal break on the north Norfolk coast. The property offers off-road parking for two cars, a small, enclosed front garden and a courtyard garden to the rear with furniture, where you can sit out and enjoy a morning coffee. Enter the property at the rear into a small porchway, before heading into the sitting room, with two leather sofas to relax onto, with the heat from the open fire warming the space, as you enjoy a family film on the TV.

The stylish kitchen/diner has a dining table with enough seating for the whole group to enjoy a meal together, created in the well-equipped kitchen, with a convenient butcher's block offering plenty of space to prepare ingredients. The adjacent utility room offers a washing machine and leads to a handy cloakroom, while the first of three bedrooms can be found on the ground floor, with a spacious double bedroom offering ample storage space and a large en-suite bathroom with a bath and shower over, ideal for any guests with mobility issues. The staircase can be found behind a door in the kitchen; head up the narrow stairs to find the remaining two bedrooms; neutrally-styled twin and a double room, served by a family bathroom with a corner bath and shower over.

Nice welcome pack but could have added some extra toilet rolls! We had 2 medium cars and parking was ample Great the table extended to 6 ! Nice and warm - hot water bit short with 6 of us bathing ! Nice open fire and Smart TV great as we logged into our own accounts Would have been nice to have a pack of cards or a scrabble game in the house though! We didn’t bring any of our own ☹️ All in all would recommend and use again Thank you for short notice to book and just for the 2 nights over New Years Eve

The basket of goodies was appreciated and a kind touch. All beds, pillows and sofas very comfy. The cottage is well placed for visiting local areas. The pub across the road serves good food Wednesday to Sunday.

Parking at the back of the cottage leads to a dog secure gravelled garden, the front garden has also been gravelled over. The lounge is extremely comfortable with relaxing furniture, and the large kitchen/dining room is perfect for preparing and eating meals. Good sized bedrooms, and the bathrooms maximize the space and are completely functional. A welcome gift of Norfolk treats was a lovely touch and much appreciated. Unfortunately the smell of damp in the porch and downstairs bedroom was rather unpleasant. (It did dissipate by the end of the week.) The cooking equipment (oven trays/chopping boards/saucepans) need replacing. Dining chairs need recovering. The cottage would benefit from being painting internally. Having highlighted these points, they in no way detract from this lovely property which is perfectly located to enjoy all the wonderful areas this part of Norfolk has to offer. The weather for the end of September was beautiful and we went out every day. The best part though was knowing we were returning to Compass Cottage to relax in for the evenings.
