Beautifully decorated with a traditional flint exterior and boasting a contemporary internal design, Woodpecker Cottage is an idyllic base to enjoy your next family getaway to Norfolk. Park up on the spacious driveway before following the pathway leading you through the well-maintained garden to the entrance. Stepping into the property, you're welcomed into a remarkable open-plan living space, enveloped in natural lighting welcomed in through the patio doors and beautifully-appointed with a contemporary interior whilst exposed wooden beams maintain the property's traditional character. Kick off your shoes and put your feet up in front of the television, unwinding with a refreshing glass of wine before heading through to the amply-equipped kitchen to prepare a hearty meal for the group to enjoy gathered around the dining table whilst you plan your next adventure. In the warmer weather, step outside and indulge in a spot of alfresco dining in the picturesque setting of the lawned garden, toasting a glass of fizz to a wonderful holiday whilst your furry friend stretches their legs. As the day draws to a close, head back inside and retire for the evening in one of the two bedrooms, choosing between the double and the twin room, both boasting a light and airy décor, offering a calming ambiance to rest your head. In the morning, prepare for a new day with a rejuvenating rinse in the spacious walk-in shower, energizing with a steaming cup of coffee. Bus stops are at the bottom of the street if you want to leave the car behind and sit back and relax, passing coastal villages and towns to Hunstanton one way and Cromer. A lovely 15 min amble/walk to the quiet pebble beach of the village, walking down a lane, around the marsh towards the "quaqs" and pond to the beach, wonderful place for spotting wildlife on the way, Hares, Butterflies, Birds a plenty;some rare, you can also walk to Salthouse (where there is the Dun Cow public house with views over the marsh), Cookies Crab shop for local sea food, Salthouse village store and deli. Take the short stroll into the pint-sized village of Kelling and head to the Old Reading Room Tea Room & Gallery to indulge in a spot of afternoon tea in a rustic and quirky setting, enveloped by second hand books and artistry. Head further afield to the coastal village of Weybourne, where you'll find a handy shop to pick up any forgotten essentials, as well as a local pub, serving seafood landed on the village beach alongside over 150 variations of gin from across the globe. Test drive a tank or explore the displays of airfield memorabilia at Muckleburgh Military Collection or traverse acid grassland and woodland to the summit of Muckleburgh Hill, boasting views across the surrounding countryside and toward the North Sea. Lace up your walking boots and explore Norfolk's Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, boasting varying landscapes of agriculture, coast, marshes and cliffs and spend fun-filled days discovering the delights of the seaside towns of Hunstanton, Blakeney and Sheringham aboard the Coasthopper. However you plan to spend your time in East Anglia, choose Woodpecker Cottage as a base that you'll be delighted to return to.
