About this property

The Plough Wheel is a quintessential Norfolk brick and flint cottage, nestled in the quiet coastal village of Kelling. It is packed with charming traditional features including beamed ceilings, pamment floors and a wood burning stove. The cottage has been renovated for modern living with a beautiful open-plan living space, two bedrooms upstairs with a family bathroom and funky mezzanine floor upstairs open into the eaves, creating an additional living space for kids to hang out or for grown ups to catch up with themselves.

Approached via an unmade road to the rear, The Plough Wheel has a lovely enclosed courtyard garden leading into the main living space. This spacious yet cosy room has a comfy sofa and armchairs arranged around the wood burning stove, a dining table and chairs and a fitted kitchen to the rear. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, one with king-size bed and the other 2'6 twin beds, plus the family bathroom and mezzanine room. This mezzanine room is a great space with a day bed, television and work desk, with views out over the countryside through three Velux windows. The stairs to the mezzanine are Paddle style so take care with access. Outside the pretty enclosed courtyard has outside dining furniture and a barbecue. With the bonus of a parking space at the rear of the cottage, this is the ideal spot for couples or families to enjoy a relaxing holiday and create wonderful memories together.

Nestled in the pretty coastal village of Kelling, there is a tea shop just a few minutes walk away and easy walking distance to the pebble beach and coastal path or out across open countryside, rolling heath and woodlands. With Holt, Sheringham and Cromer all close by, plus National Trust properties at Felbrigg, Blickling and Sheringham Park, you'll be spoilt for choice of where to visit when you come to The Plough Wheel.

    Really lovely cottage, great location.

Kelling is idyllic:- charming flint cottages and a wistful beck running through it. A stone’s throw from fabulous Holt and Norfolk’s finest beaches, this bolt hole is one to remember. The Ploughwheel is furnished with a high end modern mid-century feel, with hosts who clearly have a fine eye for design and beautiful things. We particularly appreciated the high quality children’s games, environmentally friendly kitchen products and Norfolk sourced dishwashing/hand washing products. Don’t expect a perfectly pruned garden, but the quiet peace that comes from sitting on the terrace overlooking the quiet fields is more than enough for a short stay. Style inspiration in abundance!
