You have access to the coast hopper bus which will transport you along the coast to many more coastal towns. Burnham Market is 5 miles away, stunning Holkham is 2 miles away and the nearest city is Norwich, which is 30 miles away and offers shopping centres, museums, theatre, and a football stadium. I had stayed at Jicklings about 5-6 years ago and upon arrival I thought it hadn’t changed much over the years and therein lies the rub. Before we get to that, in my opinion, Jicklings is one of the best cottages you can stay location wise and has plenty of space and a big plus, you can get 2 cars parked in the parking spaces as long as you have 1 small car and 1 medium car!To the not so good stuff, the cottage was dirty on arrival. I would urge the owners to take a more hands on approach with its cleaners. Secondly, and the biggest issue is the fact that Jicklings has not moved with the times. To expand, the cooker has one shelf in the oven. You need more than one shelf in the oven! In the living room the main bone of contention according to the kids was the fact the there was no smart TV so they could not access, Netflix, Disney, Apple, Prime etc. Smart TV required! Upstairs, the first floor - shower pressure was poor but don’t think you can do much about that. But the radiators on the 1st and 2nd floor were very poor and the heating needs to be sorted out. Some of the radiators are really old. To sum up, I would stay at Jicklings again but I would say to the owners it needs a refurbishment. Jicklings is a great asset - but it needs some TLC!
