Guests say

Appletree Cottage in Northumberland is highly praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and location. Guests appreciate the friendly owner, the proximity to Alnwick and local attractions, and the peaceful countryside setting. Some minor maintenance issues and road noise are mentioned, but overall, the cottage offers a welcoming and enjoyable stay.

The cottage is consistently described as very clean, with several guests highlighting the immaculate condition. One mention of dog hairs suggests a slight deduction, but overall, the standard of cleanliness is high.

The location is generally well-regarded for its easy access to local sights and the town of Alnwick. Some guests note traffic noise, but the rural setting and proximity to attractions balance this out.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, with cosy furnishings and a homely feel. Comfortable beds and a well-equipped living room are noted, although one comment about a shower issue slightly affects the score.

Facilities are adequate with some minor maintenance issues like a dripping tap and light bulb replacement. The mention of a busy road and noisy machinery could be a concern for some, but overall, the facilities meet guests' needs.

The owner's friendliness and gestures such as fresh eggs and a welcome cake are appreciated, indicating thoughtfulness. However, it should be noted that such gifts, while delightful, are not guaranteed for every stay.

The owner was wonderfully welcoming and friendly and we knew if we needed anything we could ask him with no trouble at all. Everything we needed was there, beds and sofas comfy, cosy cottage and a very comfortable stay. The location is perfect. It was a pleasure to stay there and we would love to come back again.

The cottage had wonderful views, even when it rained, and its central location made it an ideal base. Alnwick town, with all its ammenities was really close. The cottage itself is in a traditional style, but was comfortable and cosy. A comfortable bed was greatly appreciated. (Not always given) The spacious, private parking at the rear of the cottage was a real bonus and the Welcome Pack of wine, fresh eggs and biscuits a nice gesture. Thank you

Appletree. We arrived late due to travel issues, but the house was warm, cosy and inviting. Andrew was around the next morning and was very welcoming. We felt very at home in the cottage and really enjoyed the wood burner in the evenings. Ted the mad springer was pleased to have a secure garden and he thoroughly enjoyed the walk across the field to the river. We would like to come back to the area again and we would definitely book Appletree again. Yvonne
