When you’re ready to begin exploring this historic town, begin with a trip to the incredible and famous Alnwick Castle right on your doorstep, one of the largest inhabited castles in the UK and used as ‘Hogwarts’ when filming scenes for the ‘Harry Potter’ films, so it’s a must-visit for any fans. The Alnwick Garden is also an exciting visit with its spectacular interpretation of a formal garden, including the Grand Cascade waterfall, poison garden and largest tree house in Europe where guests can dine in the restaurant. Heading 4 miles east is the picture-perfect coastal village of Alnmouth where there is a gorgeous golden sandy beach.

Very comfortable and in a central position, but quiet as very little traffic. There is no garden, just a paved sitting out area, but for dog owners it is just a and a short walk (about 10 minutes) to the river with wonderful views of the castle which is ideal for off lead walks.
