The cottage was beautiful, very comfortable and cozy, in a fabulous location. Also an excellent secure garden for our dog. Everything was provided to make a very happy stay. For us a perfect holiday destination.

When we walked through the door, it was cold and a smell of damp in living room, after 2 days with heating on it was better, my partner went to put food in fridge the seal around fridge was mouldy and had to clean it. Toilet brushes were dirty, dust on bedside lamps, worst though was there were mice in the kitchen which and you could see the trail where they came from outside with mouse droppings and where they chewed through the door frames leading to kitchen, shame as in a stunning location, ruined the holiday for us.😒

We loved our stay at Pennywells cottage. The garden is fabulous for the dogs and for sitting out in. Plenty of chairs are already there to use to sit outside. The stars at night are wonderful. The cottage itself is so cosy and exactly what you expect a country cottage to look like. Beams, exposed stone, inglenook fireplace, Belfast sink etc. More than enough kitchen utensils and plates. Also a dishwasher, washing machine, bath, shower and two toilets. There is plenty of room to park your car as well. Rothbury close by with Alnwick and supermarkets also within half an hour. Lovely walks nearby too - both long and short depending on your energy levels. Loved it!
