Potters Pad offers a superb central location in Alnwick, making it an excellent base for exploring the town and surrounding Northumberland coast. Guests appreciate the spacious, modern accommodation, private parking, and dog-friendly features. While many found the property clean and comfortable, some noted issues with the beds, minor maintenance, and the welcome pack. The outdoor space and facilities are generally well-received, though a few guests mentioned areas for improvement. Overall, Potters Pad is a popular choice for its convenience and practicality, with most guests enjoying their stay.
Most guests found the property clean and tidy on arrival, but several reviews mention issues such as a dirty fridge, unwashed kitchenware, and occasional lingering pet odours. A few guests also noted finding leftover items from previous occupants.
The location is consistently praised for its central position in Alnwick, easy access to local amenities, and suitability for exploring the wider area. Private parking is also highlighted as a major benefit.
Guests generally found the accommodation comfortable and spacious, but many commented on the beds being too firm, creaky, or uncomfortable, which affected sleep quality. The twin room's lack of an external window was also noted.
Facilities such as the kitchen, lounge, and outdoor space are appreciated, but some guests reported minor maintenance issues (slow drainage, missing coffee machine, loose pan handles) and felt the outdoor area could be better maintained.
Several guests were disappointed by the minimal or inconsistent welcome pack, with some receiving only basic items. While some guests did receive a welcome pack, it is not guaranteed and may vary. Small touches such as milk, tea, or extra toilet rolls were often missed.

This is a fantastic apartment — very clean, airy and spacious, and ideally located right in the centre of Alnwick. There’s also a lovely enclosed area at the side, which was great for letting the dogs out to get some fresh air.Unfortunately, the beds were a major disappointment. The mattresses were very uncomfortable, and the bed creaked terribly whenever either of us moved. My wife and I didn’t have one good night’s sleep during our entire seven-day stay, which really affected our overall experience. The only other negative was the water pressure, which isn’t particularly strong, so it takes quite a while to run a bath. However, that’s certainly not the end of the world.I would wholeheartedly recommend this apartment if it weren’t for the beds. I really hope the owners take this feedback on board and address the issue, as a comfortable bed and a good night’s sleep are extremely important when you’re looking for a relaxing holiday.

A pleasant three night stay in the centre of Alnwick. Super location with a short stroll to the shops.I note a couple of comments from previous visitors re the “dog smell” and the “creaking double bed”.The advert clearly states this is a Dog friendly property and although we do not have a dog we were only really conscious of the smell on the rear outside space. The double bed was definitely creaky! To me these were minor issues and did not stop us having a good break here.Parking was easy and much appreciated.

We have stayed in a different apartment to this one but in the same building and found this apartment not as good. We knew it was dog friendly but this was the first time we could smell dog. The place could have been cleaner and found someone else's underwear left in a drawer. There was also no washing machine which was a disappointment. Beds were very hard and there were no full length mirrors. Welcome pack was a nice touch.
