The village is also known for its annual Puffin Festival, its brightly coloured beach huts and a thriving high street. Heading north along the River Coquet, the historic village of Warkworth (2 miles) is famous for its medieval castle. Exploring this stunning part of Northumberland further, popular attractions include Druridge Bay Country Park, Hauxley Wildlife Discovery Centre, The Alnwick Garden and Castle, Northumberland Zoo, and Brinkburn Priory and Manor House, all within 16 miles.

The first is a spacious king-size room with ample storage, additional seating and a handy en-suite shower room. From the kitchen, patio doors lead out into a cheery, enclosed courtyard with garden furniture, offering a quiet spot for a morning coffee and alfresco dining. There is a secure bike store for up to 2 bikes and an outside tap for washing bikes or dogs after playing on the beach (drying towels supplied for pooches too). To the front of the property, there’s a large village green just across the road. On-street parking is available outside the property on a private road, subject to availability, with additional parking on nearby street, subject to availability.
