The majority of guests found the cottage very clean and well-presented, with particular praise for the cleanliness of linens and living areas. A few reviews mentioned minor issues such as a need for deeper cleaning in the kitchen or bathrooms, but these were exceptions rather than the rule.

Waren Mill is a beautiful seaside village occupying stunning views across Lindisfarne and Holy Island. For a wider choice of places to eat, take a short 3-mile drive into Bamburgh and Seahouses, or if the tide times are kind, on to Holy Island. 2-minutes from Waren mill is the tranquil seaside escape Budle Bay, a beautiful bird sanctuary with huge mud flats that are exposed at low tide. The whole area is part of the Lindisfarne National Nature Reserve and is very popular with birdwatchers, particularly in the winter when thousands of wildfowl and waders spend their winter on the bay’s mud flats.

Various water sports are also popular in Budle Bay in the summer months. The bay provides shallow conditions that are particularly good for kite surfing at any level. Nearby Bamburgh has its own 18-hole golf course at the north end of the village. The course offers stunning views across the beaches, countryside and of Bamburgh Castle, and the village itself is often quoted as the most scenic course in Britain. The course has a clubhouse that welcomes visitors at all times of the year and also serves food for those who choose to play here.

Bamburgh is one of Northumberland’s major visitor attractions. The castle can be seen for miles and today it remains home to the family of the great Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong, open to the public on a daily basis. Bamburgh village is picturesque with neat grey stone cottages facing a manicured village green. There are excellent pubs, hotels with restaurants, a butcher and a couple of village shops for essential groceries.

Lovely cottage with great amenities. Very well placed for trips out and the bird viewing around Budle bay . We would definitely recommend a stay here.

Lovely cottage in a great location for trips to Northumberland’s beautiful beaches and sights. The cottage has everything you need. Could do with some new, bigger pans and adjustments to the taps, some of which aren’t flowing very well or are very stiff but these were very minor niggles- we had a great time and would go back.

A great location to explore all of northern Northumbria, quiet area but lovely. Great for walking the dog, clean area. House was well equipped and very comfortable. Yes would recommend. Would have been nice to have access to the enclosed decking and seating area as we had lovely weather, think this belonged to the flats in the old mill itself, but was hardly used and we would have eaten outside had we had access.
