Guests say

Lindisfarne View is a beautifully situated cottage offering stunning views over Budle Bay, with guests frequently praising its peaceful location and proximity to local attractions such as Bamburgh and Holy Island. The property is described as spacious, comfortable, and clean, with a cosy atmosphere and well-furnished living areas. Birdwatchers and families particularly enjoy the telescope and the opportunity to spot wildlife. While some guests noted minor maintenance issues and a need for clearer instructions for appliances, the overall experience is highly positive, making it an excellent base for exploring the Northumberland coast.

Most guests found the cottage very clean and well-presented, with high standards of cleanliness in living areas and bedrooms. A few reviews mentioned minor issues such as a cracked window or areas needing a little more attention, but these were outweighed by the positive feedback.

The location is consistently praised for its tranquillity, beautiful views, and convenience for exploring the Northumberland coast. Guests appreciated the proximity to Bamburgh, Seahouses, and Holy Island, as well as the peaceful setting and opportunities for birdwatching.

Guests frequently commented on the comfort of the beds, cosy atmosphere, and spacious living areas. Some mentioned minor issues with mattresses or bathroom fittings, but overall comfort levels were rated highly.

The cottage is generally well-equipped, with positive remarks about the kitchen, parking, and technology. However, several guests noted a lack of some basic kitchen items, unclear instructions for appliances, and minor maintenance issues such as loose fittings and tired decor in some areas.

A welcome pack was mentioned by one guest, but as gifts or extras are not guaranteed, this cannot be relied upon. The owner was noted as responsive to issues, and the provision of essentials like dishwasher tablets was appreciated.

Waren Mill is a beautiful seaside village occupying stunning views across Lindisfarne and Holy Island. For a wider choice of places to eat, take a short 3-mile drive into Bamburgh and Seahouses, or if the tide times are kind, on to Holy Island. 2-minutes from Waren mill is the tranquil seaside escape Budle Bay, a beautiful bird sanctuary with huge mud flats that are exposed at low tide. The whole area is part of the Lindisfarne National Nature Reserve and is very popular with birdwatchers, particularly in the winter when thousands of wildfowl and waders spend their winter on the bay’s mud flats.

Various water sports are also popular in Budle Bay in the summer months. The bay provides shallow conditions that are particularly good for kite surfing at any level. Nearby Bamburgh has its own 18-hole golf course at the north end of the village. The course offers stunning views across the beaches, countryside and of Bamburgh Castle, and the village itself is often quoted as the most scenic course in Britain. The course has a clubhouse that welcomes visitors at all times of the year and also serves food for those who choose to play here.

Bamburgh is one of Northumberland’s major visitor attractions. The castle can be seen for miles and today it remains home to the family of the great Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong, open to the public on a daily basis. Bamburgh village is picturesque with neat grey stone cottages facing a manicured village green. There are excellent pubs, hotels with restaurants, a butcher and a couple of village shops for essential groceries.

Lindisfarne View was very comfortable and clean however the property is in need of updating both internally and externally. It is advertised as dog friendly however there is very limited space outside the property to toilet a dog or sit outside, some of this is private land which was not signed as such, the owner of the hall came and pointed this out to me! Substantial renovations were happening at the adjoining property, starting each day between 7.30am and 8am, not peaceful!

A beautifully presented cottage, very comfy bed, very clean, handy location for Bamburgh, Seahouses (Farne Island boat trips), Holy Island and Berwick. The owner was very quick to solve a small problem we had. A very quiet location with plenty of parking. Thank you.

The cottage is in an excellent location with amazing views over Budle Bay. The living area is very comfortable with plenty of seating for six guests. There are the usual white goods in the kitchen area, but I don't think it meets the "well equipped" description offered in the brochure in terms of basic cooking and serving. For example, there were only two teaspoons in the cutlery drawer and the handles of several of the knives & forks were loose. There was only one serving dish which we had to keep washing. We did appreciate the provision of dishwasher tablets and kitchen roll, but were glad that we'd taken our own foil and cling film. The beds were comfortable and there was lots of hot water, but the bedrooms and bathrooms themselves were tired and in need of a bit of TLC. For example the lampshades in one bedroom were old and torn, and the headboard had slipped down at one side in another bedroom.
