The appealing village of Lowick is excellently placed for a holiday in the unspoiled region of Northumberland. The village has a store and two public houses and is only two miles from the village of Ford and the Etal estate, with its castle and craft shops. The Etal Estate offers activities such as fishing, cycling and a mini railway, making this an ideal day out for the whole family. There are eight golf courses within a 20-mile radius, and many other attractions including the border town of Berwick-upon-Tweed, Lindisfarne on the Holy Island and the spectacular Cheviot Hills. The impressive Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the beautiful vast sandy beaches of the Heritage Coast are all within an easy drive. Lowick is perfectly placed as holiday destination that can be enjoyed all year round.

Arrived to find lemon drizzle cake / fresh eggs & flowers - how thoughtful! Sheep / hens & rooster to keep you company - all very friendly. Excellent base for touring - a super mobile fish & chip van on a Wednesday evening in Lowick also nice local shop with local produce & two hotels for evening meals. A super 'home from home' with extra thoughtful touches which made us instantly feel we'd absolutely made the right choice of stay. The weather wasn't particularly kind, but nevertheless we went out all day and found The Bothy such a cosy & very comfortable place to come back to ... though sadly we couldn't sit outside to enjoy the lovely view! Very doggy friendly too, so a 'win win' all round! Thank you for a great stay.
