Sandy Toes is only 300 yards from the wide expanse of golden sandy beach of Beadnell Bay. This is a popular destination for water sports enthusiasts, including sailing, kite surfing, sea kayaking and scuba diving. Beadnell is renowned as a holiday destination and offers local facilities including a village shop and pub serving good food. Just 2 miles up the coastline is the traditional fishing port of Seahouses, where boat trips, depart regularly from its harbour, to the nearby Farne Islands, famous for its bird sanctuaries and seal colony. Here there are also several charming tea rooms, quaint pubs and shops. Horse riding, fishing and golf on the links close, by being only a sample of the many amenities available in this popular location. A further 3 miles up the coastline is the picture-perfect village of Bamburgh, famous for its majestic fortress and Grace Darling Museum. The market town of Alnwick, with its own dramatic castle, is only a short drive inland. As regular visitors to Beadnell we know what a great location it is. Sandy Toes was comfy, cosy, well equipped and well maintained, also extremely clean. A bonus is the ability to park at the premises, particularly at the start and end of the week. Lots of walking in the area, and just around the corner is The Landing, a really good cafe/ bar/ restaurant...well worth a visit. All in all, a great week.
