Private parking for 2 cars; additional on road parking for 1 car.. Skal is a deceptively spacious two storey property in the heart of the traditional coastal village of Beadnell. The large lounge enjoys a bright and airy ambience courtesy of full height glass doors which lead to a cosy sun room overlooking the rear patio garden. There is a separate dining room which leads to a very well equipped contemporary kitchen which houses many modern appliances. Access to the sun room is also from the kitchen and overlooks the rear patio garden. A freshly appointed bathroom, with shower over is also on the ground floor. There are three double bedrooms on the first floor, the master having a glass door which leads to a small and fully enclosed roof terrace where views towards the sea can be enjoyed. The master also has the added convenience of en-suite shower facilities. The second bedroom overlooks the front whilst the third bedroom looks out over the rear garden.
Beadnell is a popular holiday destination and offers local facilities including a village shop and family friendly pubs serving good food all within a gentle stroll from Skal (which is Norwegian for ‘Cheers!’). A small sandy bay speckled with rocky outcrops is close by and leads to a long sandy beach that stretches to Seahouses, two miles north. The wide expanse of golden sandy beach at Beadnell Bay is renowned for is a mere 20 minutes walk: a popular destination for watersports enthusiasts, including sailing, sea kayaking, wind surfing and scuba diving. Beadnell Bay can truly be described as the jewel in Northumberland’s seaside crown; idyllic for a romantic barefoot stroll in the sand to listen to the waves lap against the shoreline and inhale the invigorating sea air. Two miles up the coastline is the traditional fishing port of Seahouses, where boat trips to the nearby Farne Islands, famous for its bird sanctuaries and seal colony depart regularly from its harbour. Here there are several charming tea rooms, quaint pubs and shops with horse riding; fishing and golf on the links close by being only a sample of the many amenities available in this popular location. A further three miles up the coastline is the picturesque village of Bamburgh, which lies snuggled in the shadow of its majestic fortress and commands the power and presence of the seasoned television set it regularly becomes. Holy Island, the birthplace of Christianity and site of Lindisfarne Castle, can be seen from the unspoilt golden, sandy beach. Just a few miles inland is the bustling market town of Alnwick, with its own dramatic castle (and film location for Harry Potter’s Hogwarts Academy!). Visitors will enjoy a trip to Alnwick Garden, a spectacular interpretation of a formal garden including the Grand Cascade waterfall and restaurant within the largest tree house in Europe!

The cottage is lovely. It is so big! It has everything you need. It is in a perfect location for the beach, the shop and the local pubs. We had a great time. The only thing I would say is there are a lot of feather cushions and bedding. Not good if you are allergic. Just the perfect place to stay.

We have been going to Skal cottage Beadnell for the past 3 years and have just booked for next year.Its always clean,tidy and welcoming.Its close to the local amenities and walking distance from the beach.We love it hence we keep coming back.

House was lovely much bigger than expected comfortable furniture and beds main bedroom fabulous 😀 we did find it clean but quite dusty coffee table and tv table was not cleaned thought tv was smal was ok for us but if they was 6 people bedding towels lovely quality also need to oil outside doors and locks had trouble close patio door also need good clean around doors
