Guests say

Waterside is a well-loved holiday cottage in Chathill, praised for its proximity to the sea and local amenities. Guests have enjoyed the property's comfortable furnishings, well-equipped kitchen, and the peacefulness of the surrounding area. The beachside location is a highlight, offering a serene escape and opportunities for coastal exploration. While some minor maintenance issues have been noted, the overall experience remains positive, with many guests expressing a desire to return.

The majority of guests found the property to be spotlessly clean, with only a few instances of overlooked areas. The high standard of cleanliness contributed positively to the overall experience.

The location is highly praised for its closeness to local beaches, restaurants, and shops, with the added benefit of being peaceful and quiet. Its proximity to the expansive Beadnell Bay makes it an ideal spot for beachgoers and walkers.

Guests have found the property to be warm, comfortable, and well-fitted with quality beds and linen. However, some guests mentioned that the settee and outdoor seating could be improved for comfort.

The property is well-stocked with essentials and quality accessories, though some guests noted minor maintenance issues such as broken blinds and outdoor furniture. The presence of a wine fridge and smart TV was appreciated, but some kitchen items were missing or in need of replacement.

While some guests mentioned the lack of welcome packs and the need for small touches like egg cups, there is not enough consistent information on thoughtful gestures or gifts to provide a score. It should be noted that while some properties may offer welcome gifts, these are not guaranteed and can vary.

The location is fantastic, near to the beach. Unfortunately though this maybe our last stay at this house due to the lack of maintenance. It is looking rather tired, desperate need of decorating and lots of small issues that need addressing.

It’s a beautiful home but it’s looking rather tired now. We appreciate that constant occupancy means maintenance is not prioritised but close for a week and get it sorted. There’s nothing major, the curtains in the main bedroom are clinging on for dear life, the bathroom fixtures are loose and some are redundant, the stair carpet is stained and looking tired, paintwork needs touching up, there are insufficient pans, glasses for a party of six, and the rug in the living room is fraying and needs replacing. Despite the constant updates over the years, (new TV, new sofas, new blinds, and new dining chairs) they are overshadowed somewhat by an overall feeling of increasing neglect. That said, and we have loved our stays there, it is a delightfully warm home, light airy, and nicely furnished. Its location on the quiet, intimate, and modern estate is only a few hundred yards from the amazing Beadnell beach which is simply magnificent. Do the pros outweigh the cons? A plethora of other accommodations in the area mean that there are a lot to choose from, and the discerning traveller needs to feel secure with their decision. We shall see.

Some minor maintenance issues that you would expect towards the end of the season, but nothing that would stop me recommending or booking again. There were three of us - all 50+ ladies. Perfect space for cooking, eating, yoga and dancing. Plenty of places to dry our swimsuits and great choice of blankets for sitting outside after our long walks and beach run.
