Barmoor Cottage in Embleton is highly praised for its cleanliness, cosy atmosphere, and excellent location close to the beach and local amenities. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, secure garden, and the property's suitability for dogs. While most found the property comfortable, a few noted issues with bed comfort. The absence of a welcome pack and some minor maintenance issues were mentioned, but overall, guests were very satisfied and would recommend the property.
The cottage consistently receives high marks for cleanliness, with numerous guests describing it as clean, tidy, and well-maintained. Only one review mentioned a cleanliness issue regarding dog waste in the garden, which seems to be an isolated incident.
The location is frequently commended for its proximity to the beach, local pubs, and shops. Guests enjoy the quiet setting and the ease of access to coastal walks and nearby attractions, contributing to a high score.
While many guests found the cottage comfortable and cosy, there were some concerns about the comfort of the beds and sofas. The majority of reviews are positive, but the mattress discomfort and sofa firmness have affected the score.
The property is well-equipped, especially the kitchen, and guests appreciate the secure garden for dogs. However, some guests suggested improvements such as the addition of a smart TV, an external hose for dog washing, and better sofas. Maintenance issues like the shower cleanliness and bin lid were also noted.

Make a family holiday to remember with a stay at the wonderful Barmoor.
The pretty village of Embleton is ideally placed for exploring one of the most attractive stretches of Northumberland's Heritage Coastline. A beautiful grassy path runs from the village to neighbouring Craster, alongside the sea and past Dunstanburgh Castle - the largest ruined castle in Northumberland. Embleton itself has a village pub and a local hotel, and there is an excellent range of amenities in nearby Alnwick. The gardens at nearby Howick Hall are open during the summer and are noted for their beauty, whilst Alnwick Castle and Garden are a 'must-see' when visiting the area. For the keen golfer, Dunstanburgh Links Course is about 1 mile away - just one of several excellent courses in the vicinity.
