Hartam House is a well-regarded cottage in Northumberland, praised for its cleanliness, comfortable furnishings, and beautiful location. Guests have enjoyed the local walks, friendly pub, and the property's proximity to Kielder Water. The garden and the views are frequently mentioned highlights, alongside the well-equipped kitchen and cosy atmosphere.
The property consistently receives high praise for its cleanliness, with numerous guests describing it as spotless and well-maintained. This suggests a high standard of cleanliness throughout the property.
The location is highly appreciated for its beauty and proximity to local attractions like Kielder Water and forest walks. The peacefulness and the views are particularly valued, although some guests noted the presence of midges in warmer months.
Guests find the beds comfortable and the house cosy, especially with the log fire. However, some guests mentioned that the sofas could be more comfortable and that the garden furniture was not up to standard.
The property is well-equipped, with a special mention of the kitchen and the inclusion of Netflix. However, some guests reported minor maintenance issues such as non-working outside lights and a loose handrail, and a few suggested the addition of more kitchenware and soft furnishings.
While some guests mentioned receiving welcome gifts such as wine and flowers, there is not enough consistent information across the reviews to accurately score the category of thoughtfulness. It should be noted that such gestures, while appreciated, are not guaranteed for every stay.

Our 2 dogs loved the gardens. Maybe put a gate and fence at the top of the garden by the wood and brook to make it dog and child proof. Stunning views. The cottage was spotless. Kitchen well appointed and log fire had plenty of wood for cosy nights. Pubs locally but limited hours due to season. Walks a plenty.. Kielder dam 1 mile walk. Shop Bellingham 8 miles. Peaceful and lovely week. Thank you.

Plenty of local walks to enjoy and the cottage is in easy reach of many of the attractions Northumberland has to offer. The house was clean and comfortable. You will need to take your groceries with you as there is no shop in the village but having visited Falstone many times we were aware.

Falstone has great local facilities, the pub and tea room are well worth a visit. As a dog owner. I think it would be useful for fellow dog owners to include the info about dogs not being allowed upstairs on the website! This was an unexpected finding on our arrival and not something weâve come across before in the many other dog friendly properties weâve stayed in.
