Guests say

Swinhope View is a cosy cottage offering stunning views and tranquillity, ideal for nature lovers and those seeking a rural retreat. Guests appreciate the dog-friendly environment, the warm welcome from locals, and the property's potential. While some guests encountered issues with heating and TV reception, these were generally resolved, and the charm of the cottage and its surroundings are well-regarded.

The cottage received mixed feedback on cleanliness. Some guests reported issues with dust, insects, and cleanliness not meeting expectations, while others did not raise cleanliness as a concern. The score reflects a generally satisfactory level of cleanliness with room for improvement.

The location is highly praised for its stunning views, peacefulness, and proximity to nature walks. It is remote, which is ideal for guests looking for a quiet getaway. However, the remoteness means limited access to shops and pubs, which some guests found inconvenient.

Comfort levels are generally high, with guests finding the cottage warm and cosy, especially with the underfloor heating and wood burner. However, some guests struggled with heating controls and mentioned low ceilings and trip hazards, indicating some areas that could be enhanced for comfort.

Facilities have been a point of contention among guests. While some were content with the amenities, others were disappointed with the lack of Wi-Fi, smart TV, and hanging space for clothes. The parking situation and bin area also detracted from the overall experience.

There is no mention of gifts or special thoughtful touches provided by the hosts in the reviews, so it is not possible to assess the thoughtfulness of the hosts in this regard. Therefore, the score is set to null.

If you’re wanting an away from it all holiday where you can recharge your batteries in comfort and take in all the wonders of nature then this ticks the boxes . Fabulous walks from the door mean if you come well equipped you needn’t even drive anywhere , although we’d thoroughly recommend driving across the 5 county borders and amazing scenery that has to offer. The wildlife is amazing just sit and be patient. We have read some of the less positive reviews and can only say remember this is a cottage I’m rural Britain. Before booking folks should read the details of the cottage as it’s a true reflection of the place and what it has to offer . We will definitely be back. It would be worth the cottage details on the booking site noting that the off road parking is just down the road but you can park outside to load and unload carrying things up some natural steps to the front door . Therefore may not suit those with mobility impairments.
