No smoking.. Ideally located close to all the local visitor attractions, these three, attached, pet friendly cottages are perfect for couples or a small family, located on the side of a small caravan site. Rose Cottage (ref UK3283) and Stable Cottage (ref UK3285) are a generous size for up to two guests, and even has a cosy wood burner, perfect for cosying up in front of during the winter months. While Dove Cottage (ref UK3284) to the rear has a fully enclosed rear sitting-out area and is perfect for up to four guests. The Morwick Dairy Ice Cream Parlour, is only 1¾ miles away and is great for all ages. These three single-storey, stone cottages are furnished to a good standard.
Located only 4 miles from the A1, so ideal for visiting all the county, the Northumberland Heritage Coast has miles of golden sands and is peppered with castles. Druridge Bay Country park is only 3 miles away and Alnwick Castle is only 10½ miles away and famed for its appearance in Harry Potter. The magnificent, and not to be missed, historic Holy Island is only 34 miles away and visitors to Northumberland should not leave without visiting this truly historic site, magical at low tide. Nearby Warkworth and Amble are perfect for a day trip, and Amble has a working harbour, plenty of cafés, shops and restaurants, whilst Warkworth, only 3 miles, has a 12th century castle and a picture postcard high street with great pubs and cafés. Travel south and you come to Tynemouth with sandy beaches, up market bistros and a priory. The historic city of Newcastle upon Tyne is only 27 miles away. Kielder Water, set in the International Dark Sky Park, is only 48 miles and Hadrian’s Wall to the west makes a great day trip. Northumberland is such a diverse county with beautiful unspoilt beaches and fabulous hills and valleys, Railway Cottages make great bases for a stay in Northumberland. Beach 4 miles. Shop 3 miles, pub 1 mile, restaurant 3½ miles.

We had a fabulous week at Rose Cottage! It could have been cleaner, some furniture is worn & dated, & it is in need of some minor repairs/upgrades but we’re okay with ‘basic’ when the location is ideal. It’s attached to The Railway Inn & there’s caravan & camping on site. The owner is a guy called Henry; he & his staff are very friendly & helpful. There’s a great menu & the chef is top class - fantastic food served Wednesday to Sunday.One room of the pub is dog friendly & there’s a good outdoors seating area.Ideally located for a short drive to Amble, Warkworth beach, Alnmouth beach, Druidge Bay & Alnwick Castle. We’ll definitely be returning.

Disappointing and not as describedUnfortunately, our stay was very disappointing and the cottage did not meet a reasonable standard of cleanliness or maintenance.There was a strong smell of bleach on arrival. The sink contained dirty water and used/dirty cloths, while the fridge was dirty and there was old food left in the freezer. The kettle also had an intermittent electrical fault and, as far as we could establish, did not have a current PAT test.There was mould in the corners of all the rooms. Also the skirting boards were dirty, the toilet was not clean, the toilet seat was loose, and there were hairs in the wash-basin plughole.The accommodation also had limited TV channels and no Wi-Fi, which was disappointing. Noise was another issue, with significant noise from both the nearby bar and railway lines.Overall, the property requires better cleaning, maintenance and attention to basic safety and guest comfort. Unfortunately, we would not consider this cottage to be of an acceptable standard and would not stay here again.

Didn't look too bad at first till you started looking around...Mould and damp patches on most walls..Cleanliness very poor...Floors sticky...Dog hairs on the back of the cushions on the sofa...Drawer in the coffee table filled with out of date info leaflets, screwed up cigarette filter box and what looked like a ball of hair...Dirty oven....Out of date and mouldy first aid box..unironed bedding..Mattress stained..Blood spots on pillowcases..cobwebs everywhere you looked..moved the bookcase and found cobwebs and dirt behind it...Wall so thin you could hear the conversation in the bar next door...All in all definitely not worth the money we paid for it...
