Situated in the pretty village of Longhorsley, in the heart of rural Northumberland, is this characterful cottage, West Farm Cottage. Just a short drive from the coast, West Farm Cottage is a great base for a family or two couples looking to explore Northumbria. Upon arrival you are greeted by two off-road parking spaces directly outside the property, so you can easily unload your belongings. Enter through the rear door into the utility area, complete with a washing machine and tumble dryer, handy for when your trails take off on a muddier route. Continue into the spacious kitchen, boasting plenty of rustic charm and original stonework, this is a lovely space to relish in home-cooking whilst taking advantage of the range cooker, whilst the dual aspect dining area has a feature fireplace, bay window is and perfect for hosting together at mealtimes together. Carry the conversation into the lounge, where you can perch on the settees and plan the next adventure or take your pick from a wall of books and lose yourself in a good read. Step outside to the rear garden and relax at the patio furniture whilst your canine companion roams the space, whilst there is also a front patio where you can catch the sun. The bedrooms at this Longhorsley cottage are beautifully presented, with the master hosting a super-king-size with zip/link beds for flexibility, and with en-suite bathroom whilst the second bedroom has a king-size bed which also has zip/link beds. Between the Cheviot Mountains and the shore, in the centre of rural Northumberland, is the charming village of Longhorsley, which offers easy access to several fantastic hiking and biking trails. The community has a hair salon, a store, and a local tavern that serves tasty meals. Just 9 miles to the west, nestled between the Lordenshaw and Simonside Hills with the River Coquet trickling through the middle, is the thriving village of Rothbury. Brinkburn Priory, a restored Augustinian Priory in a very beautiful setting next to the River Coquet, is a pleasant, short trip away. The National Trust's Cragside House and Gardens are on the outskirts of Rothbury, and just 20 minutes' drive to the east is the Heritage Coast, which is home to a bevy of massive, historic castles and miles of golden sand beaches. Just 14 miles to the north, in the mediaeval town of Alnwick, you can spend a wonderful day with the whole family exploring the spectacular castle and garden. This location is ideal for exploring Northumberland or taking a rest because it is close to the breathtaking National Park.
