An idyllic lodge for couples or a small family to relax and unwind with a wonderful private hot tub tucked around the rear of the raised deck. Yolo Retreat is in a super position on this quiet 40-acre park, set facing forwards only a couple of minutes’ walk from the restaurant and café on site.
Offering plenty of privacy, the hot tub is an ideal way to soak and relax after a day exploring this magnificent county with miles of golden unspoilt beaches and friendly villages. Meander around the small on-site lake and watch the resident swans and wildlife, then return back to treat yourself to a lovely meal and drink in the on-site restaurant and bar.
Yolo Retreat is an airy homely lodge perfect for spending time with your loved ones for that well deserved family holiday or short break. Located midway between Morpeth and Alnwick you are literally in the centre of everything to enjoy the many visitor attractions throughout the county. A few minutes’ drive and you reach Morpeth a pretty historic market town with a grand Edwardian Shopping Arcade and super choice of bars, restaurants and shops. Travel North to Alnwick and experience the majestic castle featured in Harry Potter and Downton Abbey, the broomstick lessons are popular with the younger visitors, but the grownups love the Duchess’ gardens with the enchanting water cascade just nearby.
The Northumbrian Heritage coast offers a plethora of attractions, miles of beaches, friendly seaside villages and some great seafood places to east. Warkworth is nearby with the castle sitting at the top of the hill, riverside walks, pubs and cafes. The location makes travel in all directions so simple being set just off the A1 you can easily travel to Hadrian’s Wall in the west, Kielder Forest in the National Dark Sky Park or West over to Rothbury and the Simonside Hills. Yolo Retreat will provide you with a marvellous base from which to explore the many delights of the friendly county.

A Burn
The venue is ok but does need some attention to it to bring it up to the spec of the other static homes around it. We found the outside to be in need of a lot of TLC as it was covered in cobwebs and dirt and clearly has not been power washed in a long time. Can also see that the fences and outside of the home could do with a coat of paint as it was looking its age. The hinge on the gate to enter the property was not secure and needed fixing.Hot tub was nice but again, is looking its age and the handles and supports have got duct tape around them due to previous damage so needs attention.Inside, it was very clean and all amenities were there. Apart from one cupboard door that had a hinge missing, the rest of the inside was adequate. Although it does have 2 bedrooms, the smaller of the two is very small and my teenage daughters felt it was too tight to be having two of them in there. For younger children, this may not be a problem. The adult bedroom was very good and no problems. Bathroom was good and shower in there was excellent.All features in the home worked but something to be mindful is the internet connection. Tested this on Fast.com as was getting less than 2Mb download speed. Due to this, ended up using my own phone as a hot-spot for the TV, as it was a lot quicker to watch NetFlix and Amazon Prime on the TV (which are generously provided by the owners). There is a lot of buffering if everyone is attempting to use their personal devices along with the TV so be aware of this.The on site bar / restaurant at Crazy Horse is ok but closes early most nights of the week (10pm) and is a little pricy if you are not used to paying £6 for a pint. Food is basic during the week but does do a nice Sunday roast. There is entertainment several nights a week (at least during school holidays anyway) and there in an arcade area downstairs, however it definitely needs updating compared to other holiday parks like this one around the country that we have been to.Shop on site has very limited things so definitely recommend you get the shopping done elsewhere in such areas like Morpeth or Alnwick.

We had a great family stay at YOLO retreat.The caravan was well appointed and clean. Hot tub was great and great site and facilities.We texted the owner about a minor question and they were friendly and responsive.Highly recommended.
