Boat trips run from the nearby harbour to the Farne Islands, famous for their nesting seabirds and grey seal colonies. The picture postcard village of Bamburgh, dominated by its majestic castle, is only 2 miles north, where there is a wide expanse of golden, and often empty sandy beaches. The tidal island of Lindisfarne, locally known as Holy Island, can be seen from the beach and is accessible via a causeway twice daily. A further 2 miles up the coastline brings you to Waren Mill, which is steeped in history. Once an important port, its harbour has long since disappeared, silted up beneath the sands of the estuary. Budle Bay is a bird sanctuary and at low tide a vast expanse of mud flats is home to thousands of sea and land birds, making this location a haven for bird watchers.

What a lovely property, deceptively large and very well equipped with enclosed garden. Proximity to Seahouses high street, harbour and amenities is perfect for a stroll.Good location for sightseeing around the area, Bamburgh, lindisfarne, Beadnell bay, Ford & Etal would be our recommendations Excellent Sunday lunch at the Black Swan, Lewis's for fish and chips and a delicious pizza at Elan kept us fuelled I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Don't forget your bubble bath to relax in the beautiful bathroom 😊

Wonderful stay in Lavender Cottage as always. Details of check in etc very helpful. Smashing fully enclosed garden for the dog to run around in safely and within walking distance of the beach, shops etc in Seahouses. Will be coming to stay again! Thankyou !

A well equiped and maintained holiday home. It is situated ideally near the centre of town and near pubs restruants and shops, The equipment is all high quality. The only two slight areas of concern were the low back settees as I have a bad back and these did not support my head and shoulders and the back doorstep is narrow so care needs to be taken going out into the back garden. I would happily go there again.
