When it’s time for bed, guests can choose from two delightful bedrooms; a king-size and a twin. Both are light and airy and offer a really relaxing place to hunker down for the night. In the morning, after a quick, refreshing shower or long, relaxing soak in the bath, you’re ready to get out and about exploring the delights of the region. There are some fantastic walks and hikes right on the doorstep with the harbour just a few minutes away with boat trips to the Farne Islands available where you can see unusual birds and even seals. Seahouses itself is within a few minutes which boasts a good selection of shops and eateries.

The village of Bamburgh is well worth a visit too, famous for its imposing castle but which also has a good selection of shops and amenities. Close by there are miles of sandy beaches to explore and further afield there are magnificent castles to discover such as Dunstanburgh, Warkworth, Lindisfarne and Cragside, Towns worth a visit include the historic market town of Alnwick; Alnmouth known for its excellent golf course; and the farming hamlet of Howick which is known for being the birthplace of Earl Grey tea. For a coastal retreat which offers immaculate accommodation, Shell Cottage ticks all the boxes.

A bustling, pretty fishing village with an attractive harbour, situated on the beautiful Northumbrian coast in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Seahouses offers a variety of shops and a good selection of inns, pubs and eating places. Nearby are miles and miles of splendid sandy beaches and the opportunity to visit the bird sanctuary or seal colony on the famous Farne Islands with boat trips running daily from Seahouses, is not to be missed. There are numerous castles and great houses to explore, such as the magnificent castles at Bamburgh, Cragside, and Alnwick (home of the Duke of Northumberland), to mention just a few. Golf, fishing and riding are also available locally.
