Formerly a forestry commission property, this lovely abode has been renovated to a high-standard, offering an idyllic base for a small family or group of friends looking for a peaceful retreat, the area has dark sky status and is therefore perfect for star gazing on a clear night. Kick off your shoes as you step inside to begin your stay and make yourself at home with a sumptuous spot in front of the television, gently warming the lounge with the glow of the feature electric fire to set a homely ambiance. A well-equipped kitchen rests at the rear of the sociable space, home to a fantastic range of conveniences sure to entice any budding chef to prepare a range of tasty treats to be enjoyed over a bottle of wine at the nearby dining table, this area has a log burning stove and fireside chairs. Make the most of your peaceful countryside setting and carry the conversation outdoors with a leisurely seat amongst the mature greenery of the rear garden; a lovely spot to kick-start the day with a steaming cup of coffee or end each day in style with your favourite tipple under the stars. Get better acquainted with your surroundings and embark on a two-footed adventure through the towering woodland of the nearby Kielder Forest, there is a 45 minute walk circular walk straight out of the home, through the woods and back across the bubbling beck, or further afield, discover the glistening waters of the Hindhope Linn, a tumbling waterfall hidden within an enchanting dell, or follow the Pennine Way North or South, again from the doorstep to meet the border of Scotland or continue on down the Pennines. Take a step back in time and discover the fascinating history of the 16th century queen of Scotland at the Mary Queen of Scots' Visitors Centre or soak up the spectacular scenery of this remarkable area with a stroll through the well-kept, landscaped grounds of Monteviot Gardens.
