It is said that Postman Pat’s ’Greendale’ is based on Wooler being the gateway to the Cheviots. Nearby there is the Ad Gefrin Anglo-Saxon Museum and Whisky Distillery, here you can do a tour of the distillery and have a tasting session to try their selection of whiskeys. Wooler is on the edge of the National Park and is only 15 miles to Berwick on Tweed, with a beautiful beach and plenty of shops and history. All of the Scottish Borders are easily explored from here with Coldstream only 14 miles and Kelso a little further. Edinburgh is only 90 minutes away.

Property provided a very enjoyeable family holiday Location and amenities fine. Owners very friendly and helpful. Only critism is that patio area would benefit from a lick of paint and pictures fixings also require attention. Would happily return and strongly recommend.

The cottage was absolutely wonderful. It had everything we could have wished for, and from the moment we arrived, it felt clean, cosy and incredibly welcoming. The décor was thoughtfully chosen to suit the character of the area, and it was clear that a great deal of care and attention had gone into making the cottage feel special. We had plenty of space to relax and really enjoyed our stay.Wooler itself is a lovely place to explore, and it was a great base for discovering the surrounding area. During our stay, we visited Bamburgh Castle, Holy Island, Newcastle, Ad Gefrin, Berwick and Seahouses, and enjoyed some fantastic fish and chips in Beadnell.A truly memorable stay in a beautiful part of the country—we’d happily return.
