About this property

Sitting in the coastal village of Marske By The Sea in North Yorkshire is this pretty, one-bedroom cottage, 3 Prospect Terrace. Just moments away from a sandy beach and near a great selection of bars, this contemporary home is ideal for a couple seeking a seaside escape. Step inside to discover the open-plan living space, decorated in grey tones for a stylish presentation, ideal for relaxing after a busy day at the beach. Kick back on the sofa and flicker through the TV to catch-up on your favourite shows or why not curl up with a good book to relish your getaway? The glossy kitchen area hosts an electric oven and hob to prepare tasty meals for your loved one, as well as a washing machine to keep your wardrobe fresh! Settle down at the dining table and uncork a bottle of wine to savour a glass as you recount the day's adventures. As day draws to night, climb upstairs and head into the bathroom, with white tiles and a bath for a soak, along with an overhead shower to wash the sand away. When you're ready to rest your head, discover the double bedroom, which enjoys a spacious layout and furniture to house your holiday clothes. Awaken with a steaming cup of coffee and hearty breakfast, courtesy of the kitchen appliances as you make a plan for the day ahead. A short stroll will lead you to the golden sands of Marske By The Sea Beach to breathe in the sea air and you can fuel your excursions at a wide selection of bars and pubs. Jump in the car to visit the town of Saltburn-by-the-Sea, home to botanical gardens for a picnic, an expansive golf course to test your swing and a sprawling beach to soak in the sun. If you time your holiday right, you could spend the day dressed up to the nines at Redcar Racecourse or if that's not for you, immerse yourself in the past on a guided tour around Kirkleatham Museum. For avid walkers, the North York Moors is also within easy reach for ramble amongst the heather-clad landscape or venture to the seaside town of Whitby, known for its gothic culture. For a much-needed break to the coast, escape to 3 Prospect Terrace.

Marske-by-the-Sea is a tiny, lively coastal community with long, wide stretches of sandy beach. Originally a fishing community, it now has a variety of local stores and pubs catering to all members of the family, as well as safe, sandy beaches, sand dunes, and fishing boats. Captain Cook's birthplace, the mining museum, and the Zetland Lifeboat Museum are all local points of interest. A horse riding centre, the spectacular scenery of the North York Moors, through which a steam train line passes, and other pretty inland villages and fishing villages, like Staithes and Runswick Bay, are all within easy distance of this tiny village.

Good kitchen facilities, good wifi, smart tv, comfortable bed, good shower, perfect heating and I absolutely loved the Christmas tree! Very thoughtful at this time of year! Great location in a beautiful little village and, to cap it all, an awesome beach, with great coastal walks in either direction, just a 5 minute walk away! Loved my stay.

There was a very bad damp smell on arrival into the property, bedding was dirty and stained, there was full damp absorbing tubs, there was a lot of dust on the window sill in the bathroom and the surfaces were grubby. Outside the property there are a lot of weeds which could be a tripping hazard. There could be a light placed above the door. Positive points - the owner is very approachable, was very good at sorting problems we pointed out the day after we arrived. the bed itself was comfy, there was mattress protectors and pillow protectors, downstairs sofas are very comfortable, the kitchen is good quality and well laid out, there’s teas and coffee sachets. The heating system is very effective. The place could benefit from curtains in the bedroom to block out the light outside shining into the room, and a few more homely touches upstairs.

Good location in a lovely village. Living room door handle loose worried it would come off and a little bit of damp behind front door. Would highly recommend the property great value
