The Calf House in Saltburn-by-the-Sea is praised for its cleanliness, comfortable beds, and beautiful location with nice views. It's a great base for exploring the North York Moors & Coast, with easy access to beaches and countryside. The property is dog-friendly, with fields for exercise, though some guests noted a need for better recycling facilities and a larger fridge. The owners are described as helpful and friendly.
Guests consistently mention that The Calf House is spotlessly clean, with several reviews highlighting the cleanliness of the property as a standout feature.
The property is well-regarded for its location, offering nice views, proximity to local attractions like beaches and the Yorkshire Moors, and a quiet setting. However, one review mentioned it being situated in a less desirable village, slightly affecting the score.
Many guests found the beds comfortable and the cottage cosy, with underfloor heating appreciated. However, some guests mentioned issues with steps and the firmness of the mattress, which suggests room for improvement in comfort for all guests.
Facilities are generally well-received, with mentions of good quality appliances and a well-equipped kitchen. However, comments about the lack of a dishwasher, a small fridge, and the need for better recycling options indicate that some facilities could be enhanced.
