Castle Carrock is known for ’Cumbria’s Most Friendly Music Festival’, Music on the Marr which takes place each year at the end of July. It attracts a diverse crop of music, entertainers, artists and poets from around the world and celebrates great music and excellent entertainment for all. Only 4 miles away is Brampton a delightful little town where you will find a variety of shops, cafés and pubs. The attractions are endless in the area, however a must is a visit to Birdoswald Roman Fort on the path of the world famous Hadrian’s Wall, or Talkin Tarn where you can go boating, coarse fishing or walking. The location is ideal and central for all, with visits to the Lake District National Park, the Solway Coast, Scottish Borders and the Eden Valley within a ½ hour drive. All great only criticism would be the garden - the gate was missing and so it was not enclosed.Otherwise it was truly lovely
