To ensure your stay at West View is memorable make the most of the three large screen TVs, cinema room or enjoy a game of putting on the lawn. For your enjoyment and a piece of nostalgia, an antique football table, along with a record player with a collection of singles, are available. Castle Carrock is a pretty little Cumbrian village where you can sample the delights at the award winning village pub only 70 yards away, after a day exploring the area.
Castle Carrock is known for ’Cumbria’s Most Friendly Music Festival’, Music on the Marr which takes place each year at the end of July. It attracts a diverse crop of music, entertainers, artists and poets from around the world and celebrates great music and excellent entertainment for all. Only 4 miles away is Brampton a delightful little town where you will find a variety of shops, cafés and pubs. The attractions are endless in the area, however a must is a visit to Birdoswald Roman Fort on the path of the world famous Hadrian’s Wall, or Talkin Tarn where you can go boating, coarse fishing or walking. The location is ideal and central for all, with visits to the Lake District National Park, the Solway Coast, Scottish Borders and the Eden Valley within a ½ hour drive. This totally unspoilt area of Cumbria is the ideal location to enjoy everything this stunning area has to offer. Shop 4 miles, pub and restaurant 200 yards.

Perfect 5 starsI could not fault anything about west view.Attention to detail was excellent, spotlessly clean and everything you need for your break.Welcome pack was very welcome after the long drive.We took our own logs with us, which took up a lot of room in the boot, but they do have a log store outside, and you can purchase logs, with an honesty box payment.Absolutely brilliant and beautiful.5 stars all round.Thank you

We are two friends who stayed for four days over a weekend - very good communication from Cottages.com and the on site representative. Very well appointed with all mod cons provided - it feels like a home from home as opposed to a holiday rental. Thoughtful touches like the grocery welcome baskets and a basket of logs for the wood burner were appreciated. East and off road parking within 15 miles to Carlisle. Good local walking despite the weather. The Duke of Cumberland pub serves excellent pub meals in a pleasant atmosphere with friendly staff and it’s only a short walk away. We would recommend this cottage and consider re-booking in the future.

We had a wonderful stay at West View. It was comfortable, well stocked and the cinema room was a massive hit with our boys. The cottage was so warm and the welcome goodies were a lovely touch. I cannot recommend this wonderful cottage enough, it really does feel like a home away from home.
