Ennerdale Water, the most westerly lake is within 2 miles, it is a great place to escape even in the middle of summer with crystal clear water and forest walks. You are free to explore the land around the farm and enjoy a walk down to the river Ehen. The coastal town of St Bees is 7 miles away, walk along the promenade or relax on the sandy beach. For the more adventurous, visit Go Ape at Whinlatter (17 miles) or take on Catbells (26 miles) or Kinniside Stone Circle (1.5 miles) where, on a clear day, you can see Scotland and the Isle of Man.
