After the day's adventures, relax on the sofas, which can both be made into double sofa beds, whilst your favourite show plays on the Smart TV. Set the dining table, whilst the designated chef prepares home cooking in the kitchen, which has everything you need for a self-catering holiday. Up a small flight of stairs you'll also find a utility/cloakroom with a washing machine and tumble dryer. Completing the ground floor is a convenient shower room with a walk-in shower and ample storage space to keep your stay clutter-free! The characterful double bedroom is upstairs with a beautiful, sloped wooden ceiling, Velux windows looking across the coast, and a sumptuous double bed with crisp linen to catch your rest, as well as an en-suite bathroom. In the mornings, plan your itinerary at the outdoor seating in your private patio, or perhaps take a stroll around the front garden to soak up the sunshine.

The picturesque and bustling village of Cartmel, home to a popular racecourse, is a short drive away. It is and a foodie's haven, where Simon Rogan began his culinary journey with the Michelin starr L'Enclume; he has expanded his offerings with Rogan's in the same town and Henrock, which is within driving distance. Additionally, Cartmel has a medieval Priory, and you can visit the Cavendish pub and the Cartmel Village Shop, where you can buy the town's famous sticky toffee pudding. Discover more of the Lake District at Windermere, which is known for its spectacular scenery, idyllic lake cruises, and a variety of activities such as watersports. Other attractions include The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction and the Victorian-style Holehird Gardens. The National Trust's Wray Castle and hikes up Claife Heights are among the sights and walks in the Lake District, while more challenges and scenic views await at the tops of The Old Man of Coniston and Scafell Pike! Ambleside, Grasmere, and Kendal are all easily accessible and provide a taste of the region's history and heritage. Whether you're travelling for an adventure or simply to relax, choose Low Lodge for your next romantic break in the Lake District. Low Lodge was originally the billiard room of the main house and this had very high ceilings. A floor has been added so the magnificence of the original ceiling can only be appreciated from the main bedroom. Mr Porritt, who commissioned the building of Rocklands, was a mill factory director in Lancashire. It was built in 1896. The grounds were quite extensive but parts have since been sold (some houses on Highfield Road sit on land where the tennis courts were) or gifted (the small wooded area in front of the property was gifted to the authorities with the proviso that it should never be built on). Message from the owners: 'When we are in Grange, we enjoy walking along the Promenade and the Gardens. In addition to these two walks, we will occasionally walk to Hampsfell Hospice from the house. Humphrey Head is a short drive away and there are many walks starting from the car park in Cartmel. We hope you will enjoy your stay in Low Lodge.' Note: This property can be booked with Ref. 1096336, together sleeping up to 9 guests.
