We had a fantastic week in Cartmel. The village is a good balance of peace and quiet, along with amenities. Out of the madness that is now sadly the North Lakes. Byways is fab, centrally located, and on a quiet side street. Excellent facilities. It's petit, but has everything you need. Would work equally as well for a couple as it did for our family of four. The owners were incredibly helpful and kind when needed. You won't regret your stay!

Came to Cartmel for the races and had a great time. The cottage was lovely and clean and really comfortable. Pity about not having a parking permit but parked in the school yard two minutes away and it was secure. Met the ladies who look after the cottage and they were lovely. Will deffinately book again and recommend it. We love Cartmel its beautiful. Thamk You.

Parking is a serious problem. One can't park within 80 metres of the cottage. Nearer parking is limited to 2 hours. My car was damaged parking in the road. We were not told of the change in parking restrictions though they had clearly changed from time of booking. The shower has an extremely slippy floor and needs some form of anti slip mat. As it is, it is dangerous.
