Visit nearby Cartmel (5 miles), a picture-perfect village with some great restaurants and shops to peruse. Take a walk along the coast at Grange-over-Sands (3.5 miles) or the cliffs of Humphrey Head Nature Reserve (3 miles). Head into the Lake District and take to the water on Lake Windermere (8 miles) or Coniston Water (16 miles). Alternatively, discover endless trails and abundant wildlife at Grizedale Forest (13.5 miles).
