Ravenstonedale 4.5 miles. Wray Green is a lovely Grade II-listed, stone-built detached farmhouse, on the side of Wild Boar Fell, situated in the Yorkshire Dales National Park with breathtaking views of the Howgill fells and the surrounding countryside. First constructed in the 1600s, this traditional cottage boasts character and charm, with antique furniture and original features. The farmhouse kitchen is a delight, with low beams and a woodburning stove, and an woodburning stove in the spacious lounge, provides guests have a wonderful away-from-it-all experience in a stunning, tranquil setting. With access to 100-square miles of open fell, nearby footpaths lead you to stunning, hidden waterfalls and tiny becks, while above the house is an amazing limestone pavement. With the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District to discover, Wray Green is a superb base for exploring the area.
Set at the foot of the Howgill Fells is the tranquil village of Ravenstonedale, situated between the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. This rural village is a thriving local community and still retains many of its traditional buildings including a Parish church and the remains of an old Gilbertine Priory. Hill farming remains the primary source of income throughout the area and an agricultural show is still held once a year. The area offers many walking and cycling trails through outstanding countryside, whilst the village itself was once described by the famous author, A. Wainwright, as one of Westmorland's loveliest villages. Visitors can enjoy the Settle to Carlisle Railway Line or the magnificent Howgill Fells in addition to the stunning Yorkshire Dales and Lake District National Parks.

Two well-behaved dogs welcome(there is an additional charge of £35.00 for a second dog) - this is a working sheep farm with livestock in surrounding fields (Larger dogs may be able to jump over the garden wall, please keep your dog in your own proximity at all times).

Note: Cottage accessed via 500 yard long farm track, through two gates and across a muddy farmyard - access difficult in very snowy/icy/wet conditions - have your wellies to hand on arrival! Note: Due to the rural location of this property, should you decide to take dogs with you, please be mindful that livestock can be located in fields next to the cottage and dogs must be kept under control at all times.
