Electric central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Welcome pack. . Front garden. Back garden with patio, summerhouse, sitting-out area and garden furniture. On road parking. No smoking.. This lovely Cottage is packed with original features and just oozes charm. As you first enter, you will find yourself in a handy lobby for storing shoe and coats, then through the traditional oak-braced latched door, you will enter the cosy living room with stunning beams, dining area with log burning stove. The kitchen is off the living room and is well equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment and a wine cooler. On the first floor, you find two bedrooms, a single bedroom with views over the garden plus a spacious kingsize bedroom with beautiful feature beams. This floor also has its bathroom that Jack and Jill’s between the master bedroom and second bedroom. Outside, to the rear is a real suntrap of a garden where you can sit out whatever the weather making use of the lovely summer house which has views over the fells.
Visit the pretty town of Appleby, enjoy a tour of the castle or take a trip along the Carlisle to Settle Railway line which stops off in the town. The market town of Penrith is also just a short drive away for a great day out with lots of shops and restaurants. The Lake District is just a short drive away where you could enjoy a trip on one of the Ullswater Steamers or take a tour of a local distillery.

Not great, power cut led to no hot water for 2 days. Heaters not working in living room or bathroom.

Really enjoyed our stay, very peaceful and comfortable. Owners of the village shop were very helpful and friendly. My only complaint about the cottage is the hot was not very hot, was really looking forward to having baths after our hikes, but most of the evenings there was no hot water at all. Had to boil kettle to do the washing up. Although someone was sent round to deal with the isue and reset the boiler to come on twice a day, the temperature of the water was still not very hot. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay.

Fantastic home from home with everything you need to have an enjoyable stay . Good base for walks Kirby Stephen and Pooley bridge lovely scenery. Shop in post office but supermarket 10 minutes away in Penrith along with superb Chinese Lotus garden 😋.Will definitely recommend to family and friends and return ourselves in the future 😀
