Hidden on the outskirts of the bustling town of Ulverston in Cumbria is Bank Hurst Coach House. This wonderful stone-fronted barn conversion has been finished to a high standard, it boasts a gravelled garden with furniture, fire pit and barbecue for guests to enjoy, as well a sleek open-plan living space with woodburning stove and well-appointed king-size bedroom. The cottage sleeps two guests and welcomes canine companions making it the perfect setting for a romantic retreat to Cumbria, near the Lake District National Park. After a fun-filled day meandering nearby walks and trails snuggle up on the plush sofa with your partner and flick through the Smart TV while the woodburning stove warms the room. Stay cosied up and watch as your partner pampers you with a romantic meal prepared in the fully-equipped kitchen; enjoy this together at the dining table before heading downstairs and outside to your private garden, pop open a bottle of fizz and toast your romantic retreat while your dog runs free. When the sun has set, retire to the spacious king-size bedroom furnished with built-in storage for your belongings, dive into bed and rest up for another fun-filled day; this room is serviced by a shower room. Bank Hurst Coach House rests in expansive countryside meaning you are surrounded by stunning views and a plethora of walks, you can also easily travel to the town of Ulverston which is home to an array of shops, cafes, restaurants, and pubs including The Stan Laurel Inn and The Mill at Ulverston; ideal for the night’s you don’t fancy cooking! If you time your trip right, you could also visit one of the town's many festivals including the walking festival and Christmas Dickensian festival. Outdoor activity enthusiasts will also want to visit the nearby Lake Windermere, where you can hire canoes, kayaks, and boats to cruise the lake, go wakesurfing and climb Brant Fell which affords panoramic views of the National Park from its peak. Bank Hurst Coach is ideally located for couples seeking a memorable romantic getaway to Cumbria.
Ulverston's central street is paved with cobblestones, and the town itself has a historic feel. It has a wide variety of unique stores, cafes, and bars serving real ale by the fire. There is a wide variety of restaurants serving everything from gourmet cuisine to standard pub fare. Throughout the summer, Ulverston hosts a variety of festivals, from a flag-raising and walking festival to an art and music festival, and in late November, the town hosts the world-famous Dickensian Christmas festival. In addition to being the place where Stan Laurel was born, it also holds the record for the largest foam pie fight in the world. Great walks in scenic countryside with views of Morecambe Bay and the southern Lake District can be found all around the city. The deepest, widest, and shortest canal in the world can be found here, and it makes for a great afternoon stroll with a pub and bay views at its conclusion. Similarly, it's not hard to get to any of the National Park's sights. Furness Coast is known for its sandy beaches and excellent birdwatching. South Lakes Wild Animal Park, Lakes Windermere and Coniston, and the ever-popular Birkrigg Common, which offers breathtaking views of Morecambe Bay, are all within easy driving distance and perfect for a family outing.
