With the word 'roose' being Celtic for "moor" or "heath", you can expect to find plentiful spots for observing natural wonders and nature here. Encompassed by Rampside and Stank, as well as Piel Island and Roa Island, there's so much to explore within the local area and beyond. The area itself is home to a selection of pubs and shops, tending to all tastes as well as being wonderful for any self-catered stay, as well as being served by the Roose railway station, one of the few remaining stations on the Furness Line in the Barrow area. The nearby town of Barrow-in-Furness boasts a wider selection of amenities alongside a cinema, the Dock Museum where you can learn about the exciting local history, a golf course, a beautiful beach and much more to keep you and your loved ones entertained. Spend a day in Ulverston for wonderful shopping experiences as well as the wonders of the Laurel and Hardy Museum, glassblowing experiences and the Sir John Barrow Monument, offering something at any time of year that you visit. Further afield rests the beauty of the Lake District National Park, with its spectacular lakes and rugged fell mountains providing walking and cycling experiences like no other, it's well-worth a visit for its remarkable scenery.
