The Dairy at Brackenthwaite Farm is a wonderfully unique conversion with original features to wow all those who stay here. Set within ten acres of private land in the heart of the Arnside and Silverdale National Landscape, and with views of The Old Man of Coniston and The Lake District fells, here you can enjoy some of the country’s most remarkable surroundings and an abundance of wildlife, making it a perfect place to relax and unwind or get out and explore.
The property is a stylish, self-contained one-bedroom annex with mezzanine bedroom and tall windows that make the property wonderfully light and bright. The layout is open plan with tall ceilings with original beams in the living area. The kitchen is spacious and very well equipped. Dining is at the breakfast bar that forms part of the kitchen and living area. Unique features include a wood burning stove for winter warmth, underfloor heating in the bathroom with mood lighting to create the best evening relaxation, and an impressive well at floor level with glass top and colour changing lights create pleasing mood lighting movements on the ceiling above during dark evenings. The bedroom contains a wonderfully comfortable super-king size bed that can also be made into a twin bed by request at the time of booking.
Parking is immediately adjacent to the property and to the front of the property is a semi-private outdoor seating area with west-facing views that afford The Dairy with some truly remarkable sunsets. The outdoor seating area then open onto The Orchard, which is where you may freely exercise and dogs accompanying you. The Orchard also forms part of the 1-mile walk around the farm and can be used as an additional sitting out area on the various benches and seats provided. You may also enjoy a quick relax in the hammock or a gentle swing in the tree swing at the old oak tree.
It is from The Orchard where you might like to start the 1-mile walk that gently takes you around the farm estate. On this walkabout you can enjoy some lovely views and sights including an enclosed wildlife area, new wooded areas, an open wildflower meadow, and meet some of the other resident animals onsite including Kunekune pigs, sheep, goats, hens, ducks, and other poultry. All of these are pets, there for enhancing the visitor experience. The latter also provide some of the most excellent free-range eggs!
The Dairy comes with a charcoal fired BBQ as standard, to be used at your pleasure. It is a big hit with couples who seek quality accommodation, something memorable, and perhaps a little romance. People who love the great outdoors and some natural wonder.
Note: This property can be booked with Refs. 1135531, 1135533 to sleep up to 12 guests in total.
Arnside is situated on the southernmost tip of the Lake District in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, where low limestone hills, marshy plains and deciduous woodlands characterise the surrounding land. This former fishing port has retained many of the features from its past. The beautiful pier and port areas of the village offer stunning views across the Kent Estuary, as well as providing an enduring reminder of Arnside's illustrious history. To the south of the village are the 15th century Pele Towers, which were constructed to defend against the marauding Scots. The local surrounding area is a nature lover's paradise with stunning limestone pavements and wonderful woodland walks through countryside alive with rare plants, trees and wildlife. The internationally renowned Leighton Moss rspb Reserve is also just one mile away. Guided walks across the Kent Estuary are available, showing the full splendour of the shore and surrounding area. Within easy touring distance are the Lake District and Lune Valley, the Yorkshire Dales and the Forest of Bowland.
