In the heart of the Ribble Valley and converted from a 19th century barn, these holiday homes, all with wonderful views, are situated on the owners’ working sheep farm (owners offer lamb feeding March until May) and set in 170 acres of environmentally managed farmland in the heart of the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Barn (ref 27977) and Bramble Cottage (ref 27978) are semi-detached and The Stable (ref 30562) stands detached and are in a perfect location for wedding ceremonies, providing ideal accommodation. Just 2 miles from Whalley, with its historic buildings, charming shops, cafés and restaurants, it is the perfect base for exploring the Ribble Valley, Pendle and the Trough of Bowland. With walks from the doorstep, the area is also popular for cyclists and mountain bikers. There are several fisheries nearby including trout and fly fishing, and Whalley Golf Club is less than a mile away. Situated on a bridle path, there is stabling available on site (to be arranged directly with owner). Children will love Brockholes Nature Reserve, Bowland Wild Boar Park and the Roman museum at Ribchester. There is also a dry ski slope nearby at Pendle. Other places of interest include Gawthorpe Hall, Samlesbury Hall, Townley Hall and Clitheroe with its castle and museum. The Lake District and Yorkshire Dales are both within an hour’s drive. There is a golf course approximately 1 mile away which is open to non-members. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

We had a lovely 2 night stay at Bramble Cottage. It is located in a beautiful area with some glorious walks on the doorstep and close to some nice cafes and restaurants. The owners were very friendly and helpful showing us around the cottage, making us feel welcomed. We did find the cottage a little cold however there is an electric fire which let out a good amount of heat and a log burner. We didn’t find the DVD player but the TV does allow you to connect to a Netflix account. There’s a great array of board games and books as well as recommended local walks. Wish we had stayed longer!

Short review - What a lovely cottage! Longer review - We were a group of five adults attending a dance festival in Clitheroe. Bramble Cottage came up on a search of the area. The bedrooms were a good fit for us (two couples plus one), the kitchen was well equipped and is huge (I wish I had that much room at home) and the sitting area has lovely comfy sofas to flop into at the end of the day. If you are a group or family looking for a base for touring the Ribble Valley area this is ideal. Within a short drive of the local towns but quiet and isolated so you can get away from civilisation when you want to. All of our group regretted not having a couple of spare days to make more use of the facilities.

This was a fabulous location, and a really spacious accommodation. It is a lovely drive up into in, along lovely small country roads. The views are great and the cottage was perfect for our family with an elderly person and young kids.
