Swallow Cottage at Swans Rest is a peaceful retreat within a small, exclusive development, centred around a natural pond that’s home to both resident and rehabilitating rescue swans and ducks. Nestled between the village of Singleton and the market town of Poulton-le-Fylde, it offers the perfect mix of countryside charm and coastal convenience, with easy access to the Fylde Coast.
The cottage features a spacious living and dining room, with a separate kitchen leading to a lawned garden complete with outdoor furniture, ideal for al fresco dining. With three comfortable bedrooms and two bathrooms, it’s a relaxing escape for couples, families, or friends. On-site laundry facilities add to the convenience, making it suitable for both short breaks and longer stays. Four-legged friends are very welcome. Although the garden is not fully secure, there is a dedicated, enclosed dog exercise area on-site where pets can run and play safely.
Located just 15 minutes from Blackpool, guests can enjoy iconic attractions such as Blackpool Tower, the Pleasure Beach, Sea Life Centre, and Blackpool Zoo. For a more relaxed seaside outing, Cleveleys is only ten minutes away, while Lytham St Annes, with its championship golf courses and annual events, is around a 25-minute drive. Ribby Hall Spa is also nearby for those seeking a little pampering. The area is perfect for walking and cycling, with scenic trails through Singleton and beyond. Within an hour’s drive, guests can explore the stunning landscapes of the Trough of Bowland, the Lake District, and the Yorkshire Dales.

We enjoyed our short stay in Swallow cottage. We were welcomed by Irene who showed us around. The cottage was clean and comfortable, with a fairly well equipped kitchen and 2 bathrooms.The surrounding gardens are pleasant, and dogs have to be on lead around the cottage, which was fine.There’s an off lead dog area which is quite small but suited our needs.We visited Blackpool illuminations and went up the tower. There are some great walks along the Wyre and Lune and Wallings ice cream farm is a must!Altogether a good place to stay for a few days.

We spent a lovely relaxing week here and really enjoyed the peace and quiet The cottage itself is warm, spacious, clean and very comfortable! The kitchen is well equipped for every eventuality and all the little extras included make it good value for moneyBlackpool is only a short drive away and there is a lovely local pub close by and a supermarket in walking distance!We felt very at home and I’m sure we will return in the future 😀
