Archie's Cottage receives high praise for its stunning seaside location, beautiful views, and peaceful atmosphere. Guests consistently mention the cottage's cleanliness, cosy feel, and well-equipped interiors, making it a comfortable base for exploring the area. Thoughtful touches such as welcome hampers are frequently appreciated, though not guaranteed. While some guests note minor maintenance issues and the lack of nearby shops or pubs, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing a desire to return.
The majority of reviews highlight the cottage as very clean and well-presented, with only a few minor comments about specific items needing attention (e.g., oven, chipped bath). Overall, guests are highly satisfied with the cleanliness.
The location is repeatedly described as stunning, peaceful, and right by the sea, with beautiful views and easy access to coastal walks. The only drawbacks mentioned are the steep road and the need to drive for shops or pubs.
Guests find the cottage cosy, warm, and homely, with comfortable beds and a relaxing atmosphere. A few mention steep stairs and minor furniture issues, but these do not detract significantly from overall comfort.
The cottage is generally well-equipped, with most essentials provided. Some guests note minor maintenance issues (e.g., garden upkeep, outdoor furniture, kitchenware, WiFi speed, and TV quirks), but these are outweighed by the positives.
Many guests mention thoughtful touches such as welcome hampers, wine, and even festive decorations. However, as these gifts are not guaranteed for every stay, future guests should not expect them as standard.

A homely cottage by the beach which had all the amenities you would expect. However to operate the television you had to have the cupboard door open, a quirky sink tap in bathroom that operates in the wrong direction. An oven that would benefit from a good clean and 5 chairs for people staying and sufficient cutlery eg knives (we bought a pack), the rug in top bedroom needed repositioning because kept tripping over it. All are simple fixes but did not detract from the lovely restful stay we had. The welcome pack was a appreciated and we would certainly visit again.

Disappointing there was no shop or pub in the village at all and we had to travek to Eyemouth or Berwick. Cottage was fine and well kitted out. Garden was overgrown with weeds and a bit meh!
