I would however bring two points to your attention which could be looked at to improve the customer experience. 1. We were disappointed to find only a small amount of coal available which did not last the week even though we only put the fire on at night. There was only a small amount of logs for the log burner , not nearly enough for a week. This could prove to be a real problem if guests in winter were arriving late and perhaps bad weather causing poor road conditions because the nearest suppliers of house coal is Berwick or Coldstream which are both some miles away. I believe that the owner should address these issues in order to enhance the guest experience and at little cost to herself take the real hassle out of having to search for fuel,. The central hearing was very good. 2. On arrival we found out that departure time was quoted at 0930, which, after many years of self catering, is the earliest departure time ever! I appreciate it is only 30 minutes earlier than normal but on departure day time is always tight. We were only 2 adults but I would imagine if children were in the party, the earlier time could be very problematic. I honestly canât understand why it requires 6 and a half hours for the owner to prepare this cottage. Otherwise, no problem with the cottage.
