Hall Cottage is actually a wing of Cressbrook Hall. It is an unusual character property with a split-level living and dining area on the ground floor and bedrooms downstairs. The cosy sitting area has an open fire and there is a raised area for the kitchen and dining table. From here the window overlooks the wonderful formal gardens of the hall. Downstairs there is a family bedroom, a twin bedroom and a single bedroom, plus a bathroom with a shower over the bath, basin and WC. Outside there is a walled courtyard and a path that leads to an outdoor seating area which opens up on to a field, used as a football pitch for guests, with lovely countryside views. Note: The cottage can be booked with the other cottages on the estate Refs 957496, 957497, 957498, 957500, 957501, 957515, together they sleep 37.
Cressbrook is located on the River Wye and its focal point is the mill, which was built in 1779. Follow the footpath upstream of Cressbrook Mill to Water-cum-Jolly, which is superb for rock climbers, birdwatchers and walkers.
