If you are looking for an authentic Peak district house with easy access to local attractions like Chatsworth and towns like Bakewell and Matlock then this could be for you. The house feels victorian and so don't expect a new style decor, but DO expect lovely high celings and a beautiful view. The house has pretty much everything you may need with extensive kitchen utensils and cookware. It even has a washing machine, but not a dishwasher. If you get rained or snowed in, there are a vast array of games and puzzles to keep you occupied, plus a TV that has Sky. We didn't use it, but there is a open fire with first set of logs and lighting blocks as well as a guard for when lit. There are plenty of parking spaces around the back, but this is 1st come 1st serve, so after 5pm it was full when surrounding properties came home from work. There is space for a small car directly out the back of the property by the gates. Nice shopping area 200m down the road with several eating/cafes and other shops. Through the car park and there is the very nice Claret and grouse pub. Chatsworth estate is 3 miles away and Bakewell 4 miles in one direction ad Matlock 5 in the other.

Friendly helpful owners, we arrived late at night to a warm cosy cottage with mince pies and milk in the fridge. In a great location for exploring Chatsworth, Bakewell, with other locations in easy reach. Lovely open fire helped us keep cosy and relax. Lots of books, games and dvds available. Great shower and fully equipped kitchen. Would definitely recommend.

Fantastic little cottage, very homely, especially in the evening with the open fire lit. Great location, Chatsworth and Bakewell are close by, and there are some excellent walks straight from the door.
