Matlock Green is a much-loved, spacious bungalow in an excellent location for exploring Matlock and the surrounding area. Guests consistently praise its spotlessly clean and well-equipped interior, large secure garden ideal for dogs and children, and easy access to local amenities and attractions. The property is especially popular with returning visitors, including those with mobility needs. While some mention the décor is a little dated and note minor maintenance issues, these do not detract from the overwhelmingly positive experience. The owner is frequently described as helpful and welcoming, making for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.
Cleanliness is repeatedly highlighted as a strong point, with many guests describing the property as spotless, immaculate, and well-presented. Only very occasional minor issues (e.g., stained carpet) are mentioned, but these are rare and do not affect the overall impression.
The location is highly praised for its proximity to Matlock town centre, local shops, parks, and major attractions. Guests appreciate the easy walks into town and the convenience for sightseeing. A few mention the lane off the main road can be tricky to access, but this is a minor concern.
Guests find the bungalow spacious, homely, and comfortable, with particular mention of comfy beds and a relaxing atmosphere. A handful of reviews note the need for a mattress update and lighter bedding in summer, but overall comfort is rated very highly.
The property is well-equipped, with a fully fitted kitchen, conservatory, and a large enclosed garden. Some guests suggest minor improvements such as updated garden furniture, better kitchen knives, and a hair dryer. Occasional maintenance issues (e.g., toilet flush, dated décor) are noted but do not significantly impact the experience.
Guests appreciate thoughtful touches such as milk on arrival and the owner's helpfulness. While these gestures are mentioned, it should be noted that such gifts or extras are not guaranteed for every stay.

Clean and comfortable. A great secure garden for my 5 year old grandson to play in. Itâs situated up a rather narrow lane which took a couple of times to find but worth it when you do.. the only thing missing was a hair drier, due to other tenants âborrowingâ them. A great park, completer with splash area is within a 5 minute walk.

However the property is looking tired now, and could use a refresh.

Well equipped with everything needed to a relaxing break. Conservatory is a bonus and such a lovely place to sit and watch the birds and squirrel on the bird feeders. Ideal location for visiting many local places and the shops at Matlock are only a 10 minute walk away through the lovely park gardens
